The Running Event
The Running Event brings the run specialty industry together for three days of business, education, product discovery, and connection. I’ll be attending the 2026 gathering in San Antonio with particular excitement for Switchback at The Running Event—the outdoor specialty showcase created in response to the growing crossover between run and outdoor retail.
For buyers working anywhere across running, outdoor, footwear, apparel, nutrition, recovery, or adjacent specialty categories, this is increasingly a room worth prioritizing. TRE brings leading brands and retailers together under one roof, while Switchback adds a dedicated outdoor dimension designed around sourcing, peer relationships, and practical industry insight.
I’m especially interested in seeing how Switchback continues to evolve alongside its larger standalone gathering and how the running and outdoor markets are converging at retail.
